I loved the chance to work with these two mamas and their daughter for their “hybrid” lifestyle session. Their portraits took place both at home and on location, which is why I call these sessions a “hybrid”. We started their family portraits at home in Columbia, MD before heading over to The Shrine of St. Anthony in Ellicott City for some maternity portraits, too. This sweet family is just SO full of love and I’m honored I could capture this special time.
These sweet mamas have been together for over 15 years, and were married in 2016. After two years of struggling with infertility, they were able to have their miracle baby girl. Now, she’s 2 years old and is about to be a big sister! I had a great time letting their daughter show me around their house when we began their session. She’s obsessed with princesses and knew her mom was having a baby – I know she’s going to be a great big sister!
She definitely loves her mamas and even though we had some super real toddler moments (you know the kind: laughs and tears all within minutes!), we had a lot of fun. These three have a gorgeous farmhouse chic home that made me want to redecorate my own house, and it’s obviously overflowing with love. I loved being able to capture these three snuggling and reading right in their home. Creating images that are meaningful to you – in your spaces – is important to me.
After we finished up at their house, we headed over to The Shrine of St. Anthony for maternity portraits. Thanks to the good ol’ tablet for their little girl, they were able to enjoy something similar to a “date night” during the rest of our photos. No shame here! I totally get it, mamas! We explored the beautiful archways to capture this joyful moment for these two moms. I loved watching them light up as we talked about the pregnancy and how they feel to be expanding their family again.
Congratulations to the W family! I’m so happy for you three and I can’t wait to meet your newest addition!! Thank you for trusting me to capture this special session. I hope you enjoy this little look back into our time together!
Christina did an amazing job with our family photos. From the first time we spoke--she was incredibly thoughtful, organized and detail oriented to ensure the session would be a success.. – Katie A.
