6 Month Milestone Portraits at The Howard County Conservancy

There is nothing that brings me more joy and happiness than photographing a couple as they grow into a family. When Joe reached out to me about scheduling a 6 month milestone portrait session for his son to surprise his wife, Sara, I was overjoyed. I’ve worked with Sara and Joe for years. From their wedding day to their maternity session while they were expecting their sweet son, I’ve been with them. And it’s been such a gift! So, of course, I was absolutely game when Joe was reaching out to book. I couldn’t wait to see them again and get to know their little guy, too!

6 Month Milestone Portraits at The Howard County Conservancy

We planned their session at The Howard County Conservancy. It’s literally one of my favorite places to photograph families in Howard County, MD. With wide open fields and stunning views, it’s the perfect place to spend an evening and enjoy a sunset as a family. Joe and Sara showed up looking just perfect with blue hues in their outfits and I was able to meet their sweet little guy!

Like all of my family sessions, I wanted to capture this family as they are when I’m not there. I encouraged them to play, snuggle up with their son and just be together. I loved watching Sara and Joe in “parent” mode. They are absolutely so in love with their son (and I don’t blame them!). We had so much fun just playing and making their baby laugh. To end the session, Joe and his little buddy grabbed their sunglasses so they could be “Cool Joes!” It was so cute!!! We grabbed a shot where they were both holding their glasses and it reminded me so much of when Joe walked down the aisle with sunglasses in his hand. See? I LOVE when I’m with families long enough to remember things like that.
