Based in Howard County, Maryland, Christina Tundo Photography serves all the definitions of family within the DMV area, preserving the authentic moments, both big and small, that you want to hold onto forever.
I’m not going to lie – one of my favorite messages to receive from a family is: “I have news, we are expecting.” My second most favorite message is: “Will you photograph our family when the baby arrives?” I absolutely love photographing families as they grow – whether it’s a new family to me, or one I’ve photographed for years. This sweet family reached out to me well in advance of their little girl’s arrival because she wanted to get something on my calendar when my availability was limited. Because of her NICU stay, we planned a Chevy Chase new life session at their home to celebrate her arrival.
Unfortunately, baby girl’s first month of her life was unexpectedly stressful and hard for the whole family. She spent time in the NICU after being born, working to get strong enough to come home. Once she was able to head home, we were in the dead of winter – when RSV was going around! To be safe, we continued to hold off on our session. At that point, the family was going through some home renovations, so we pushed again. But …. then it looked like it was going to be a stormy day and we were a bit worried about the light. We had a reschedule date planned, but by a happy miracle and a quick text message to stick with the date, we did the session! It all worked out just the way it was supposed to. Her newborn session became a “new life” session, which I think is the perfect way to describe these beautiful portraits.
This family worked for hours on this nursery and it was just magical. It had the most beautiful light and I loved all of the details. What is crazy is that just a few years ago I took extended family photos in their home and used this room, too. I think we all knew how special it was to be in that space again, with their new baby girl! Her big sister loved showing the baby off and dancing around with me. I was just in heaven! The love that oozes to the two girls just gives me goosebumps.
This sweet family has definitely adjusted to life at home with both of their beautiful girls. I’m so happy we were able to document their new life session for the newest family member! I loved everything about their sessio. From the nursery to mom’s pink dress to the girls being together with their parents, it was perfect. Thank you to this incredible family for asking me to be with them to document this milestone!
Christina did an amazing job with our family photos. From the first time we spoke--she was incredibly thoughtful, organized and detail oriented to ensure the session would be a success.. – Katie A.
