At Home Newborn Session for Baby Boy in NOVA with Northern VA Family Photographer

A and Z welcomed their baby boy this summer! I was absolutely honored that they asked me to capture new portraits as a family of three in their NOVA home to celebrate his arrival. In the spring, I documented their maternity session, so I knew how excited these parents were to hold their new bundle of joy. To me, these newborn photos were about capturing their happiness and excitement as new parents and how loved their little guy is. 

Northern Virginia Newborn Session

It has been a journey into parenthood for these two, so these photos have such an extra meaning for this family. For their session, we worked in their little guy’s nursery for a lot of the photos. A and Z have created such a beautiful space for their son to grow up in. It was also perfect for me as a photographer – lots of gorgeous light! Their home is beautiful, too, so we found a few other spaces that worked perfectly for photos – their living room, against their neutral walls, and their living room. 

A and Z kept a neutral color scheme for the session, too. I loved the dress mama wore – it had lots of fun textures and looked great paired with her boys’ outfits. One thing I’ll never forget about this newborn session is that the love that A and Z have for their son is so palpable. He’s going to grow up with so much love and attention. It’s so heartwarming to see. I’m so happy for these three and absolutely honored I was able to document their journey to bringing this little one home!
