As a newborn lifestyle photographer in Maryland and the DMV area, I’ve had the absolute honor of capturing special moments for so many of my clients. I’ve photographed bedtime routines, special family celebrations, and new homes. One of the biggest hesitations new parents share about a newborn lifestyle photography session is that their home does not get enough light. The reality is that your home is your home for a reason. You fell in love with it. I have the skills to look at your space and figure out what will work best for photos – so don’t worry! You don’t have to be the one to decide! I always look for spaces with good natural light and a lighter background. Plus, embracing whatever makes your home unique is part of the process! I’ll do whatever it takes to get you that good light – whether we open your front door, find a clean wall, or use the spare bedroom. When you see your final images, you’ll likely wonder where all the light came from – like this family did! 

Your home is decorated the way that you like.

Let me tell you a secret: your home is beautiful because it’s where your family’s love lives. However you decorate it is fine by me! It’s part of your story and who you are. If there’s something you want to remove for the photos, that’s fine by me – and it goes the other way too. If there’s something your home you MUST include, let’s talk about it! I’m skilled at working around the everyday mess, and sometimes, those lived-in details can add a layer of realness and warmth to your photos. We’ll move the cords or the miscellaneous toys out of the shot – if that’s what you want. If not, I truly believe that there’s something beautiful about capturing the ordinary chaos of being a new parent.
