Springtime in DC is one of my favorite times of year. The light sunsets, the sweet cherry blossoms, and the warm weather just create such beautiful days! This spring, I had the chance to meet up with M. and her parents for a family portrait session at the Constitutional Gardens and Albert Einstein Memorial here in DC. This little girl is already a year old – which I can’t believe – and we wanted to make sure we captured them together!
We met up early in the morning at the beautiful Constitutional Gardens in Washington, DC right along the Tidal Basin. It’s a busy time in DC since the cherry blossoms are blooming, and we saw 3 people running during our session since we were away from the tidal basin!! Really, it wasn’t too bad and we got a gorgeous view of the city and the blossoms. Despite the early time, M. and her parents were wonderful and so cheerful! In fact, her dad had just had surgery and was in a boot, but he was even excited to be there. We made it work!!
M.’s mom decided to take advantage of the client’s closet for M.’s outfit too! The sweet pale pink gown she wore – and the shoes – are part of my kids’ client closet options. I LOVE how it looked against the blossoms!
It’s hard to believe that just a year ago, I was photographing their newborn session to welcome M. to the world! She’s so sweet and I loved watching her interact with her mom and dad. Plus that giant Albert Einstein statue, ha! There’s something so special about watching babies grow up like this through our sessions.
I’m so happy I had the chance to document this beautiful spring Constitutional Gardens family session! It was the perfect way to spend a morning in DC!!!
Christina did an amazing job with our family photos. From the first time we spoke--she was incredibly thoughtful, organized and detail oriented to ensure the session would be a success.. – Katie A.
