Based in Howard County, Maryland, Christina Tundo Photography serves all the definitions of family within the DMV area, preserving the authentic moments, both big and small, that you want to hold onto forever.
Alex is an amazing Annapolis, Maryland family photographer who has photographed my family, so it was an honor to get to do her spring time portraits and lifestyle images. I loved working with her and her family. She reached out way in advance, which made my heart so happy. As we talked about their session, two things were clear: Alex wanted more photos of her with her sons and she loved the spring cherry blossom vibes. From there, we began planning their Howard County family portraits among the cherry blossoms in the spring!!
If you follow my Instagram stories during the springtime, you know that I closely follow the cherry blossoms in my area. I was slightly compulsive about checking during peak bloom season. I moved up the timeline to capture the flowers and then there was a freeze over! Thankfully, in the end the date we had in mind wound up working out well with the blossoms… However, we were not prepared for the chilly wind. It was COLD the day of Alex’s session!! I felt bad because the last photography session Alex had with another favorite photographer of mine was also breezy. Seriously, weather?! But, Alex and her family were real troopers!
We all made the most of the chilly day. Her youngest is the serious snuggle bug, which worked out nicely with the weather. It was so true to his personality when we took the cuddly photos. Her older son was my photography assistant throughout the session. He helped me set up some branches for portraits with them in the foreground. As an elementary school teacher, I love having the kids be part of the magic behind the scenes.
One of my favorite moments of the session was when we tried to have Dad come behind to “attack” them all. In the end, everyone just fell over! It was hysterical. Those natural moments are the ones that matter most to me as a family photographer. The posed photo for a holiday card is great, but I want to capture who you ARE as a family, too.
Thank you to Alex and her wonderful family for bearing the cold for me! This entire session wound up being so beautiful and I’m thankful for your trust in me.
Christina did an amazing job with our family photos. From the first time we spoke--she was incredibly thoughtful, organized and detail oriented to ensure the session would be a success.. – Katie A.
