The N family was such a joy to work with! They braved the humidity of the summer with me to explore Tudor Place in Washington DC this year for their family photos. When mom and dad reached out to me about booking a family photo session, we discussed how important it was to them to document their curious and playful one year old daughter. They envisioned a beautiful, laid back session featuring candid and natural moments of their family together. I’m so happy they fell in love with my work and asked me to capture these new family photos!

Family Photos at Tudor Place

Tudor Place was on my bucket list for a while! It’s been listed as one of the best photography spots in the DMV and it did NOT disappoint. Tudor Place has a beautiful home on the property as well as gorgeous gardens, so we had lots to work with. Mom and dad shared how their little one is at that age where she gets into everything – and they love watching her do so. She was definitely full of wonder and I adored watching her explore her new surroundings. Some little ones don’t love touching grass or flowers – but she was all about it! It was adorable.

However, she wasn’t so sure about me when we began our session. I totally get it! Her parents were amazing – so playful and they didn’t mind her favorite stuffy being a part of their photos. I’m all about whatever works to help make your little ones more comfortable during our sessions! In our questionnaire before the session, mom mentioned how much she loved watching her husband and daughter play and be silly together. It was important to me to find ways to encourage everyone to just enjoy the day together so that we could capture those silly smiles. The N family was amazing – from cuddling together to playing in the gardens – we captured some beautiful natural and effortless photos for them to treasure forever!
