Another year has come and gone and I’m so thankful for each of my amazing CTP families and clients. I thought to celebrate this year, I would create some fun superlatives to give out – showing off some of my favorite moments from this year’s photo sessions. Every session this year has been a joy – and such an honor. I will never tire of capturing memories for my families – from new babies to another year of family photos to generations together and new homes. Thank you again to everyone who trusted me to capture these special moments… and now, onto our 2023 CTP Superlatives from this Maryland and Northern Virginia family photographer!
How sweet is this little girl? I can’t get over her brilliant smile! She was super bubbly and made my job beyond easy. I adored her!
This wasn’t my first year working with this beautiful family – but I fell even more in love with these adorable sisters. They were so cuddly and happy to snuggle up during our peony minis this year!
This was a quick mini session that had me laughing out loud the entire time. Both parents were up for anything and the kids had the best of energy! It was a total dream session!!
From sticker play, reading a book, playing in kinetic sand, and going on a wagon ride, this session highlighted their 18 month old’s favorite things. I love that we were able to showcase what makes this family’s every day life so special.
Most Creative Photos
I had the honor of photographing this family twice this year and knew the family had an appreciation of art and color theory. For their maternity session, I took a storytelling approach while being lighthearted and joyful. Both of their sessions allowed me to explore new creative ideas and I loved being able to build across the two sessions to create a cohesive gallery that told their story of welcoming their baby home.
Most Calm Session
These new parents were so laid back and their baby girl was a doll. She spent 9 weeks of her life at the John Hopkins NICU. Her mom did a 10K to raise money for John Hopkins to thank them for their outstanding care, so it was really special when they were able to bring her home!
When I walked in to capture this family photo session, I knew I was going to be in for something special. From the sunlight kissing into their home with all the family cuddles… I was looking like a full on heart eye emoji the entire session!
The first round of cherry blossoms bloom in mid-late March which means it is still cold out when we start these springy portraits. This family braved it in the middle of March at Brookside Gardens and I’m so thankful. It paid off!!
I am so thankful this family brought along some tissues so we could wipe off sweat during our hot session! The heat helped the baby stay asleep and calm for the session. The icing on the (melting) cake was that her grandparents were visiting – making the photos extra special.
We literally planned this session the night before it happened. The mom’s dress and the oldest dress was a CTP client closet. When I saw the blossom framing and the connection between her and her daughters, goosebumps ensued! I’m glad we were able to pull these photos off.
This dress was SO popular during sessions this year. Despite the waitlist, I managed to snag one and add it to my client closet. It’s been busy ever since. It’s the perfect dress to bring that light and airy vibe to life!
During this family session, we played at home and their little boy had a great time in his playroom. Towards the end of our photos, everyone piled on the couch – including their dogs! One of them managed to steal the baby’s bagel and it was hilarious!
Thank you again to every family that trusted me to capture their memories this year. I’m looking forward to another great season with these incredible CTP families next year!
