I absolutely adore the W family. I’ve worked with them before and it was such an honor to be asked to photograph their Maryland family session. This year, we documented them, their sweet boy, their pup and her parents. The grandparents help watch his son during the day and they wanted to thank her parents for doing such a special and helpful job for them. I thought that was the sweetest!

Maryland Family Session in Ellicott City

During any session I photograph, I take inspiration from a number of places. Watching how everyone interacts, the questionnaire responses I receive pre-session, and even what my repeat clients share online. All of that information helps me know what is most important to capture for every family I work with. This mama shared an Instagram story of her walking with her son and he is at the age of growing more confident with walking. It brought me back to the days of bending down and constantly moving and that little hand grasp. I knew during the session, I’d be able to document this. It was important for me to document that small, fleeting moment for this little guy and his mama. She also mentioned that she loved how he laughs and we made sure to get some beautiful giggles out of him!

Beyond the special moments I documented for this family, I also LOVED the color palette that they chose for their spring photos. Lindsey utilized my styling services and borrowed her dress from my client closet! I think that everything came together perfectly and looked wonderful against the buildings of The Shrine of St. Anthony – and the pink blossoms of early spring.

This location was extra special for the family because they had their engagement photos with their pup years ago.
