A and Z are expecting their first little one and reached out to me about capturing a maternity session to document this incredibly special time in their lives. The new parents have been on a journey to welcome their baby to the world since 2018. So these maternity portraits were extra special to them (and me!). It was such an honor to be trusted with capturing this moment. A and Z told me they wanted to find a way to capture the joy they feel but also how much they love spending time together, so we planned a Seneca Creek Park maternity session – complete with a sweet picnic!

I LOVED the idea of a picnic for A and & Z to enjoy during their portraits. I thought it was a genius idea! They brought the sweetest spread – their favorite cookies and treats to enjoy, along with a classic picnic basket and we even found some beautiful white daisies for A to hold. She told me early on that she prefers classic and clean images. I love that all of the details they chose to bring really elevated their portraits without overpowering them. This session was truly about capturing natural images of them to celebrate their baby and journey into parenthood. They kept the focus on their interactions and relationship, which is what I always want to see in photos – so it was really the perfect session!

A and Z were so sweet and I adored working with them both. They even brought cookies for me to take home to my own kids. It was a touching gesture and I was just again reminded of how lucky I am to work with such incredible people. A and Z booked a Bump to Baby package, so I’ll be able to document their new baby soon, and I cannot wait!
