Based in Howard County, Maryland, Christina Tundo Photography serves all the definitions of family within the DMV area, preserving the authentic moments, both big and small, that you want to hold onto forever.
I love this time of year. Everyone, in the photography industry or not, takes the time to look back on what’s happened over the last year. It’s such a great time to slow down and really celebrate how far we’ve all come. I hope you don’t mind indulging me as I go through this end of year review – and lots of thanks – for everything that’s happened in 2021. This year was the biggest one yet for my business! I photographed just 30 families alone this fall and 62 families total this year in the DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia area. I had 26 mini sessions and 36 full sessions, as well as assisting with four weddings. Phew! Last year I photographed 46 families to compare.
There is so much that goes behind the scenes and beyond the lens in my business. I always want to be clear about the fact that while I do a lot in my business myself, I do outsource and it’s made a huge difference in my life (and biz!). The success of 2021 has definitely been a team effort. I want to take a moment to thank the incredible people who have been behind me this year!
This year, I did a rebrand with the help of Carry Love Designs. Amanda did an incredible job with the new website for me and making sure that my message was being clearly shared with my clients: new and current!
I also began to outsource my content writing, specifically my blog writing, with Kristina Dowler of Dot the I’s Outsourcing. I love being able to share my sessions because someone else can help me organize my thoughts, plan a schedule, and optimize my content. It’s been great to share what’s going on at Christina Tundo Photography more regularly!
I want to say thank you to the amazing Katie Dragos who helped me with mini sessions this year! Katie has been my friend since the THIRD GRADE. She is a client and best hype girl before a session. She has the biggest heart and always someone to talk to when things are tough.
Additionally, I’ve also been able to work with two private editors this year, which has been AMAZING for my workflow. Tyssa Watson and Anna Haley for editing my sessions this year! It’s nice to not have to edit every single image by hand and makes sure I can deliver images to my clients in a more timely manner after each session.
As always, I want to give a huge shoutout to my husband, Rocco! Not only is he my incredible CPA and Bookkeeper, but he helps make sure we keep the kids alive and healthy. I guess that’s not really all outsourcing – but it is good teamwork and I’m thankful for it.
I’m so thankful for this incredible year and I wish each of you a happy new year! I’m excited to take a little bit of time off this winter to be with my family, as well as work through some courses. With my husband being a CPA, I am forced to slow down in the winter/early spring. The positive of that is that I have time to reflect on my workflows and client experience to make improvements and additions.
This year I took on more sessions that I could handle as a mama, full time teacher, and wife. 2022 will have some big changes in how I serve my clients and how I want to be more present with my family and friends. I can’t wait to share more!
I look forward to more growth and documenting families in 2022!
Christina did an amazing job with our family photos. From the first time we spoke--she was incredibly thoughtful, organized and detail oriented to ensure the session would be a success.. – Katie A.
